Passengers in Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion international airport shared mixed reactions as the Israeli government moved to ban travel to the US over Omicron concerns on Monday.

Italy, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Morocco, Canada, Portugal, Turkey and Switzerland are also on the no-fly list.

The restrictions come into effect at midnight Wednesday local time (22:00 UTC Tuesday).
The government justified the ban citing concerns over the spread of the more contagious Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
