Protests continue as Taliban raises Islamic Emirate flag

The Taliban have removed the Afghan national flag from Jalalabad square and replaced it with the Islamic Emirate flag.

This comes a day after the militants dispersed a rally around the flag pole reportedly killing at least three protesters.

Nonetheless demonstrators continue to take to the streets.

Hundreds protested in Kabul, denouncing the Taliban’s seizure of power. 

The Afghan flag has become a symbol of defiance.

Meanwhile thousands have been fleeing the country, fearful of what the future holds for them under the Taliban’s rule.
