State of Palestine: 40 injured as protesters and IDF clash in Beita

Palestinians clashed with IDF soldiers in Beita on Friday as protests supporting Palestinian prisoners continue for the third day in the West Bank. Around 40 protesters were reportedly injured during the clashes.
Kayed Maali, a Fatah’s spokesperson who was present, said that, “All of what the occupier is doing now against the prisoners and their families today is their way of expressing their security failures and Fatah’s position is to mobilise its various factions and to escalate the clashes at all points of contact in the northern provinces.”
The West Bank faced a third day of violent confrontations following calls by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian factions for a “day of rage” to protest against Israel’s decision to transfer Palestinian prisoners from the Gilboa Prison.

SOT, Kayed Maali, Fatah Spokerperson: “These are clear messages: the prisoners are the most important issue for the nation. It is utterly unacceptable to harm the prisoners and to scapegoat them to cover up for the national embarrassment for Israel’s national security after the heroic escape conducted by our brave prisoners.”
