Travellers were left stranded at Washington DC’s airports, on Monday, as dozens of flights were either cancelled or delayed amid the wave of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Passengers were seen waiting for updates for their flights at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, near Washington DC.
The Omicron variant has quickly become the dominant form of the virus in the United States in recent weeks, accounting for the vast majority of new cases in the country and driving a spike in new infections.
