A small group of protesters gathered outside the White House in Washington DC on Saturday to denounce proposals of US military intervention amid rising tensions on the Ukraine border.

The rally was organised by far-left groups, including Answer Coalition and Code Pink against US-NATO intervention to address Russian military build-up.

Banners read “no war with Russia” as speakers addressed the rallying crowd.

The rally came after Washington announced it was sending extra troops to Europe to address the crisis, a step Moscow condemned as ‘destructive’.
